The Newsweek Cover Oct. 8

The wacko right says that the cover photo of Newsweek October 8, 2008 edition is biased against Sarah Palin. WHAT? I guess when you have nothing to run on you have to make up offenses to get news. The problem they say, is the photo is untouched and not airbrushed so every flaw of Sarah Palin is shown. Really? When I first saw the photo, I didn't see these flaws, maybe because I wasn't looking for them? I saw a beautiful woman. Now, I confess, I am an unrepentant liberal. I would never vote for Sarah Palin. Not because she has hair on her face, but because I don't agree with her. Given the reaction to the photo by the reactionaries one can assume they have never seen a Richard Avedon photo. Oh, they usually ran in The New Yorker, a journal not known for its conservative articles. Many "liberals" have had every physcial defect on full display in The New Yorker in the many Richard Avedon photos. I don't recall anyone saying The New Yorker had a left bias because of those photos. Perhaps that was the clue I missed that The New Yorker was a leftist rag?
